Alsace An area largely ignored by the UK, the wines of Alsace can offer great quality, style and finesse. Add to that the ability to partner some modern styles of cooking really well and they really are worth trying.
The Loire A favourite area but how the producers cope with the weather is amazing. Even before global warming the climate of Northern France was not dissimilar to our own. Despite all this, the wines have a quality and sense of place that is hard to beat.
Côtes du Rhône Another really exciting region. It has a new generation of grower-winemakers who have brought expertise and enthusiasm to the area, adding skilled vinification and vine growing practices to the existing raw material of great vineyard sites and fantastic fruit. In addition, new cellar equipment is being installed and prices for top quality wines are well below those for other high quality regions.
Burgundy In Burgundy unless you are paying very significant amounts of money, the balance between price and quality can be a nightmare! By choosing our wines on the basis of the style and approach of the producer we believe we have established a very concise list that gives top quality at more affordable prices.
Bordeaux In our Bordeaux selection we have sought to list properties whose wines are well made, with good fruit quality and balance, but that offer real value from an area that is often seen as being overpriced.
