Vintage Champagne Jean Moutardier 1997 Lying just west of Eperney in the Le Breuil region of Champagne, Jean Moutardier source their grapes from their own 16 hectares of prime vineyards growing Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. It is the quality of the Meunier that provides the stylistic hallmark of the wines, giving them a generous fruity character. Made entirely with the Pinot Meunier grape variety, the vintage is only released in exceptional years. Bigger flavours than the non-vintage, with a yeasty, biscuity nose and a fine mousse. Only produced in an exceptional year, the Moutardier vintage has a mature golden yellow colour, giving a tender, rounded sensation on the palate with rich aromas of ripe fruit and toasted brioche.
